JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and issues sales & marketing debit notes within the established deadlines and ensures that debit notes agree with the general ledger/sales reports, and that any differences are accounted for.
  • Generates statements on a monthly and/or ad-hoc basis and follows up on the timely collection of same.
  • Assists with ensuring the accuracy and timely closure of monthly management accounts, including the preparation and posting of journals, in accordance with established schedules.
  • Performs analysis of assigned Balance Sheet accounts and P&L accounts.
  • Liaises with various banking institutions to ascertain the availability of foreign currency as required.
  • Co-ordinates and processes staff payroll as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Verifies all payment calculations which include but are not limited to commission payments, and overtime payment, and prepares correspondence to staff where applicable to advise of such payment calculations.
  • Performs all administrative functions related to data entry, reconciliation, audit of payroll and processing of all statutory requirements.
  • Prepares all letters which supports validation of payroll data to a third party which includes but is not limited to job letters and travelling letters.
  • Prepares the monthly bank reconciliation for assigned accounts in accordance with established schedules.
  • Reconciles all sub-ledgers with the General Ledger Control Account, in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Ensures that all required information is received by the External Auditors within the period specified.
  • Assists with ensuring the efficient functioning of assigned team, including but not limited to optimal distribution of the workload; supervision of output; addressing performance related issues; disciplinary matters and leave management.
  • Generates and provides assistance in preparing all required reports.

 

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting, or a related discipline.

 

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

  • ACCA qualification or its equivalent.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the accounting field.
