Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to the Laboratory Department, including but not limited to invoice preparation, typing of reports, form preparation, patient interaction on the phone and in person, scanning and filing.
  2. Assist patients with completing documentation on relevant clinical information.
  3. Coordinate the collection and transportation of specimens.
  4. Utilize computer skills to manage data efficiently on all relevant computer systems.
  5. Prepare invoices for all out patients.
  6. Prepare invoices for insurance companies and other corporate clients.
  7. Prepare patient insurance forms.
  8. Dispatch of patient reports.
  9. Update laboratory register and filing of all reports
  10. Enter charges and data for in-patient services in a timely manner.
  11. Monitor stock inventory and provide timely and ongoing feedback as to requirements.
  12. Follow up on reports for outsourced tests.
  13. Other related duties as may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of office practice and procedures.
  2. Knowledge of filing and preparation of invoices, receipts and bills.
  3. Must be customer service oriented.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external partners.
  6. Ability to think creatively and to demonstrate flexibility.
  7. Ability to work effectively under stress, to prioritize, multi- task within tight deadlines and respond to changing demands.
  8. Ability to use initiative and pay close attention to detail.
  9. Ability to demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • Minimum 5 C.X.C. O’ Level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
  • Computer Literacy in MS Excel and Word.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a related position.

Other:

  • Must be able to work a shift system, weekends and public holidays.
  • Experience in a Private health care environment considered an asset.
