Our corporate office and factory are situated at 106 Saddle Road, Febeau Village, San Juan, Trinidad.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

Supports LRI product development by assisting in the formulation of manufactured products/samples and conducting routine laboratory analysis to validate the physical and chemical properties of these blends, through product testing and enhancement and quality control of finished goods.

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

To monitor and control the quality of manufactured products before and after packaging

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Examination of cartons, bottles and labels to ensure that there are no faulty inputs
  2. Aid in the procurement of locally supplied chemicals
  3. Printing and distribution of batch tickets
  4. Perform product testing before a product run
  5. Act as a liaison between the production and compounding departments
  6. Perform random checks on items packaged on the production floor for appearance and correct fill height
  7. Ensure that safety rules are adhered to on the production floor
  8. Fully participate in the laboratory safety and quality processes
  9. Investigate and record any accidents/incidents that occur on the compound, as they arise
  10. Engage in product research and product enhancement
  11. Accurately and efficiently prepare samples based on recipes and instructions provided by the Chemical and Compliance Manager
  12. Provide support in the sample preparation area
  13. Analysis and remedial action for product complaints brought to the lab
  14. Calibrate, operate and maintain laboratory analytical equipment
  15. Supervise the compounding team

 

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Liaise internally with management of production and laboratory and also with the floor staff
  • Liaise externally with external suppliers and health and safety officers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry preferably
  • Prior experience in the safe handling of chemicals and with producing chemical blends from recipes
  • Capable of running routine analytical tests
  • Be willing to work beyond normal hours when requested.
