Seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

ASSISTANT WAREHOUSE MANAGER

 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

 

  1. Assists in the development of Warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization and inventory management.
  2. Ensures product stock levels are adequate for distribution channels and can cover direct demand.
  3. Assists in overseeing the Warehousing and Production teams to meet the demands of the Restaurants and manage the flow and quality of work.
  4. Receives stock orders from the Restaurants and ensures that overall disbursements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  5. Develops and enforces Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the efficiency of the inventory management systems at the Warehouse.
  6. Ensures timely offloading of containers to prevent demurrage and the timely receipt of materials.
  7. Generates daily, weekly and monthly reports for stock/goods received.
  8. Utilizes software to monitor demand and document inventory.
  9. Supervises the daily activities of the Warehouse including Quality Assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity and customer service.
  10. Ensures that adequate inventory/stock levels are maintained and reconciled against system data.
  11. Analyses data to forecast future stock levels based on the needs of the organization.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, logistics and purchasing best practices
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written/oral)skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be able to demonstrate high levels of confidentiality and integrity

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • An undergraduate degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management/CIPS or other relevant purchasing certification
  • A combination of relevant experience and qualifications
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ Supply Chain/Purchasing experience in a Supervisory role for a medium to large organization
  • Knowledge of Restaurant Management would be considered an asset
