JOB   DESCRIPTION 

POSITION :        Bartender

REPORTS TO:       F&B Manager/Quality Service Captain

 

SCOPE

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests according to hotel specification, courteously and efficiently
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding the expectations of all guests
  • Attentive to guests making them feel welcome at all times

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve wine and draught or bottled beer
  • Collect money for drinks served
  • Cash and balance float at end of shift
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Prepare appetizers such as pickles cheese and cold meats
  • Replenish bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
  • Suggest drinks to guests for increased sales
  • Prepare stock report before and after shift
  • Report immediately any discrepancies to management
  • Report needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day
  • Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

The individual must be customer-oriented and results driven.  He/she must be a team player with a positive work ethic and a strong commitment to growth and development.  The incumbent must at all times be able to work well under pressure and must exude professionalism as well as provide a professional image.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 – 5 O/Levels
  • Two (2) years experience in a similar position
  • Partaking in bartending competitions (an asset)
