JOB SUMMARY

The Biomedical Engineer supports the functionality of all medical equipment installed or to be installed at customers’ facilities particularly with respect to mechanical installations, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrations, software upgrades, configurations and network troubleshooting.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes, in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and with minimal supervision, troubleshooting; installation; validation; inspection; maintenance; calibration; safety-testing and service repair needs on designated medical equipment.
  • Manages project deliverables and guides clients on site readiness for all Medical Imaging Systems under the Company’s purview.
  • Completes on-time and accurate Preventative Maintenance and Field Modification Instruction as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to efficient inventory management practices.
  • Responds to all customers’ technical problems within established timelines.
  • Diagnoses and repairs problems according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Coordinates repairs with Foreign Service Engineers (when necessary) until problem is solved.
  • Conducts pre-installation tests on new equipment to confirm functionality prior to delivery/installation.
  • Coordinates and conducts training sessions for medical equipment as required.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Engineering would be considered an asset.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

ü  Supplier Certification on modalities would be considered an asset.  

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering with experience in both service and installation.

  • Availability and willingness to travel throughout Trinidad and Tobago
  • Must hold valid international travel documents at all times and available to travel abroad as required.
