TITLE: Branch Manager

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

LOCATION: C3 Branch (San Fernando)

TYPE: Full-Time

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Working closely with the Operations Manager, the Branch Manager drives the success of his/her branch through effective customer service and sales, inventory management, people management, and detailed execution of operational and administrative processes. We are looking for someone who is highly sales oriented, technically savvy, and enjoys working with people.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensure the highest level of customer service, leading by example, and training employees as necessary.
  • Accountable for stock handling and ensuring integrity of the inventory management system.
  • Ensure that the branch is always properly stocked in accordance with the Company’s inventory system.
  • Working with the Buying & Category Management department and local suppliers to ensure that goods are supplied in a timely manner, following the relevant replenishment procedures.
  • Supervise cycle counting processes.
  • Demonstrate a high level of product knowledge and the ability to identify slow moving or dead items, ensuring that goods are properly rotated and care taken in order to eliminate damages.
  • Carry out in-store marketing efforts to boost sales as directed by management. Suggest various promotional activities as necessary. Participate in company promotions as directed by management, ensuring that all promotional material is always clean and refreshed.
  • Coach, supervise, develop employees to ensure the highest levels of productivity.
  • Effectively train employees in selling techniques, including cross-selling and substitutions.
  • Responsible for determining labour needs, rostering of employee shifts, delegation of tasks, and adherence to procedures/policies.
  • Supervise day to day function of direct reports and be able to provide relief in cases of absences.
  • Follow up on cash control and security procedures.
  • Accurately reconcile receipts, cash payments and prepare deposits for collection.
  • Open and close store to ensure the hours of operation are in compliance with the company’s regulations.
  • Review and analyze sales targets and controllable expenses and propose corrective action where needed.
  • Ensure store-level preventative maintenance program is operational in store including but not limited to removing empty boxes form isles, power outages procedures etc.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Diploma in Business Management or related field.
  • 6 CXC O levels, including Maths and English.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.
  • Technically savvy – a general working knowledge of computer systems and the ability to trouble shoot basic computer issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Retail Experience preferred.

  • Ability to drive sales and determine customer needs
  • Ability to work with numbers – sales figures, expenses, targets, and non-financial metrics such as average basket size, etc.

  • Self-starter, excellent initiative.
  • Vision and stamina required to run a branch.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and professionalism at all times
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Overtime may be required.
