Job Purpose: 

The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of the various branches, including operations, lending, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with VENTURE’s objectives.

Duties:

  • Assist in developing new products and promote the sale of loans
  • Provides a superior level of customer relations
  • Promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation;
  • Achieves individual and branch loan goals through, referrals business development and retention of member relationships.
  • Provides leadership, training and supervision
  • Work with Marketing to advise on strategies for growth
  • Adhering to regulations
  • Meeting targets and deadlines
  • Ensuring the company make profits
  • Enforcing safety measures
  • Delegates day to day operations to the branch personnel
  • Participates in community affairs to increase VENTURE’s visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities.
  • May perform duties in the absence of the General Manager, Operations
  • Responsible for the performance management of employees including coaching, motivation, training, development, performance reviews and merit increases.
  • Perform time management functions to include scheduling, approval of time sheets and approval of leave requests.
  • Manage and control loan portfolios allowing for loss mitigation and enhanced risk management strategies.
  • Monitoring retail delinquency within policies and conducting periodic reviews of loans.
  • Perform and supervise delinquency and collection efforts.
  • Reviewing the investigations and credit applications of the retail team, and granting of loan approval according to individual approval limits/conditions and in accordance with policies.
  • Responsible for monitoring and testing of control measures set in place the Credit Union and making recommendation to improve ensuring staff adheres to Control measures same.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor processing of loan applications and credit investigations
  • Achieve targets and objectives set out by the General Manager, Operations
  • Interview corporate and individual and respond to Member concerns
  • Ensure compliance of the ‘Code of Conduct’ by all employees.
  • Ensure smooth operation of business systems and equipment and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
  • Signs documents and cheques on behalf of the Company.

Health & Safety:

  • Report any hazards which are identified to the relevant person/persons.
  • Ensure the application of and adherence to established HSE measures and procedures to ensure the well-being of all Employees and Members.

Education and Experience:

  • A first degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or any related field.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Business related field would be an asset
  • Five years’ work experience in the Financial Industry, with three (3) years at a senior level
  • Direct work experience in supervision of staff
  • Working knowledge of Credit Risk Management, Cash Flow Management, Budgeting, Marketing, Investment and Strategic Planning
