JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLEBUSINESS CENTRE MANAGER

REPORTS TO: Executive Manager – Credit Administration    

CORE JOB FUNCTION:    Responsibility for overseeing the day to day operations of the Business Centre with a view to offering new business opportunities and ensuring new and existing member needs are met and exceeded

 

MAJOR TASKS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsibility for day to day management of the business centre to hit regular targets, reporting to the Executive Manager – Credit Administration
  2. Full team management – oversight of credit sales and administration
  3. Coordinate business centre processes, motivating a business centre team and setting clear targets/objectives for achievement.
  4. Retain, build and maintain member and commercial accounts through effective account management and member relationship building activities
  5. Responsibility for credit sales generation of the centre to include conducting site surveys and member appointments.
  6. Initiates and maintains the company’s business center policies and procedures.
  7. Ensures compliance with all credit policies and procedures.
  8. Ensures alignment with the Central Bank and all credit related regulatory bodies.
  9. Works with all related third-party bodies to ensure the legitimacy of all credit documents prior to transaction processing.
  10. Keeps track of performance as it relates to lending targets.
  11. Responsible for ensuring that the highest quality of service is delivered to our members.
  12. Maintains working knowledge of the operations of the Credit Department.
  13. Maintains an understanding of the external market in which the Credit Union operates as it pertains to the lending packages of other financial institutions to ensure that competitive advantage is achieved at all times.
  14. Oversees timely disbursement of all loan proceeds to members.
  15. Oversees insurance and securities verification.
  16. Coaches, guides and mentors the performance of direct reports.
  17. May also be required to assist staff during high volume traffic times or if short staffed.
  18. Any other related duty as assigned by the Executive Manager – Credit Administration or designate.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • First Degree or equivalent in any of the following: Management, Accounting or Banking & Finance or Marketing.
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years people management experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ related experience in a Commercial Credit in a financial institution or any similar combination of education, training and experience.

  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with potential members, existing members, staff and co-workers in writing, verbally and orally.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Strong ability to forge professional relationships with commercial business, members and co-workers.
  • Previous Business Centre experience at a lending institution.
  • Actively monitor member satisfaction.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to train persons.

  • Well-developed analytical skills.
  • Requires excellent understanding of the Credit Union and its products and services.
