Business development Officer!
JOB SUMMARY
This role supports leading recycling facilities specialising in the collection and processing of used vegetable oil (UVO), tyres, batteries, paper, and old corrugated cardboard (OCC). Our goal is to promote sustainable waste management practices and provide eco-friendly recycling solutions to businesses and communities.
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities (local, regional & international), building relationships with clients and expanding our market presence in the recycling industry. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with experience in sales, client management and sustainability solutions.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Market Research & Lead Generation: Identify potential clients/suppliers across industries (automotive, manufacturing, retail, etc.) for recycling services. Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients/suppliers, including garages, automotive companies, factories, and retail businesses. Present customized recycling solutions to meet clients’ needs for UVO, tyre, battery, paper, and OCC disposal. Manage client accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Achieve sales targets by promoting the company’s recycling services. Develop and implement business strategies to increase client acquisition and revenue growth. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Educate clients on the importance of sustainable waste management and recycling practices. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards whilst obtaining all relevant certifications/approvals.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions and business performance. Prepare reports and presentations for management on business development activities and growth strategies.

- Perform other duties that maybe required to develop and enrich the performance of the company as requested by management.

- Observing good housekeeping practice.
- Reporting the taking of any medication while on the workplace to their Supervisor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS·
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry, will be an asset.
- Knowledge of UVO, tyre, battery, paper, and OCC recycling processes is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- This role is based at the Head Office in San Juan and will require visits to processing plants in Diego Martin & Arima.
