PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure that the organization secures the highest quality and best prices for goods and services through effective vendor negotiations and proper procurement practice. Assurance that all assigned procurement related requests are completed based on cycle time and defined metrics with tracking and reporting as per agreed timelines.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Preparing Purchas Orders.
2. Reviewing requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
3. Responding to Requestor/End User and Supplier enquires about order status, changes, or cancellations.
4. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Suppliers.
5. Researching, analysing, and forecasting current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
6. Preparing contracts in consultation with the Procurement Team Leader.
7. Conducting market research and report on price increasing and changes.
8. Soliciting quotations and negotiating and comparing prices.
9. Liaising with vendors to track deliveries and provide status on all procurement requests.
10. Reconciling of invoices and closure of Purchase Orders.
11. Attending site visits and supplier meetings when required.
12. Attending vendor conferences when required and as directed by the Procurement Team Leader.
13. Providing coaching and guidance to other buyers (Buyers I, II & III).
14. To assist the Procurement Team Leader in drafting and reviewing of contracts as required.
15. Providing support to the Procurement Team Leader as required.

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• CIPS Level 4 Diploma /Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• BA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management would be an asset.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a purchasing environment or related discipline.
