Job Description for Chemist/Quality Control Officer

We are looking for a dedicated analytical chemist to be responsible for producing household and industrial chemical products and to ensure product safety. The Chemists responsibilities include preparing test solutions and conducting quality control tests. The Chemist will conduct research and explore how products, processes and equipment may be improved.

 

  • Prepare test solutions and reagents for conducting tests and advising and coordinating test procedures.
  • Develop, improve and customizing products, formulas processes and analytical methods.
  • Writing technical papers and reports and preparing standards and specifications for processes, tests and products.
  • Maintaining laboratory instruments, troubleshooting malfunctions, evaluating, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards.
  • Ability to analyse processes with desire for continuous improvement.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Monitor backlog and plan testing schedule to ensure quoted turnaround times are met.
  • Assist with maintenance of chemical/supply inventory
  • Analyse data, perform calculations and interpret results.
  • Participate in the improvement of documents, test systems, quality systems and workflow.
  • Helps ensure department compliance to site goals and objectives
  • Write technical reports to describe their methods and findings
  • Excellent time management skills which will allow you to meet deadlines.

 

 

Requirements :

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.

Experience in scientific research and laboratory work may be advantageous

Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment.

Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.

Good presentation, documentation, and reporting skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong technical skills
