Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).

CHIEF RADIOGRAPHER

The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership and management for the professional allied staff of the Radiology department on a daily basis. This includes coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the Medical Imaging services within the institution.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Directs the conducts of radiographic/imaging activities within the department.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective staff rostering system.
  • Collaborates with the Radiologists and the Business Manager for the development and maintenance of effective and efficient scheduling and workflow systems within the department.
  • Monitors the treatment of patients and members of the public provided by the staff, and ensures that these clients are treated with courtesy and dignity.
  • Monitors the performance of staff, and provide assistance where necessary for them to become maximally effective in providing quality radiographic/imaging services.
  • Reviews and proposes revisions of existing policies and submit to the organisational relationship for consideration and approval.
  • Instructs and advises staff on changes in policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the selection/interviews of professional/technical staff for the Department of Radiology.
  • Coaches, mentors and makes recommendations for the training of professional/technical staff.
  • Implements and monitor Quality Assurance and Control Programmes for the department.
  • Participates actively as a member of the Quality Control, Radiation Protection Committee and other committees as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains a stock-list of diagnostic imaging supplies required for the provision of quality imaging services, and ensure the optimal utilization radiographic supplies.
  • Performs radiographic/imaging duties where and when necessary to ensure the continuity of services to patients.
  • Develops and implements approved continuous education programmes for Radiographers, Dark-Room Technicians/X-Ray Technical Assistant, PACS Administrators, Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Supports the Mission and Philosophy of the Department of Radiology and the NCRHA.
  • Performs related duties as directed by the organisational relationship.

Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

  • BSc. Degree from a recognised School of Radiography.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of the specialised diagnostic imaging modalities training.
  • Advanced training in Quality Assurance and Radiation Safety.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years within the health sector.
  • Certification in Human Resource Management or Managerial skills will be an asset.
  • Current registration with the Radiographers Board of Trinidad and Tobago.

* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago*
