COMMERCIAL SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER

 

 

JOB PURPOSE

To provide Sales and Marketing Support to ensure commercial interests are optimized for the business. Oversee marketing and brand strategy and manage company associations with a goal to sustain, grow and recognize business opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with the Director on the Commercial strategy for the department.
  • Guarantee resources and budget requirements, trading terms, credit risk and customer pricing guidelines are aligned to drive marketing strategy implementation
  • Establish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Visit External customers and develop and maintain relationships by frequent visits, development of Key account plans.
  • Manage the implementation of brand programs in the key strategic channels based on consumer and customer segment requirements to support the brand portfolio strategy.
  • Propose goals and KPI’s for direct reports and track ongoing results to achieve performance
  • Identify and engage new customers and new business opportunities.
  • Ensure execution of promotion and advertising campaigns aligned to Sales Targets and customer plans.
  • Oversee and participate in the coordination of sales and marketing promotional activities, including proper use of in-store signs, advertising sales and promotions.
  • Ensure efficient service by developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards.
  • Establish an annual department plan by developing sales and marketing strategies, objectives, action plans and assignments.
  • Maintain service quality by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; recommending system improvements.
  • Collaborate with external principals, customers, regional offices and line management to ensure plans and procedures are carried out.
  • Report on departmental activities, issues, plans and performance to Senior Management.
  • Monitor collections with the sales representatives at all times and to get involved where necessary.
  • Monitor Brand Activity, Promotional work and advertising monthly.
  • Evaluate success and provide feedback on new customer and marketing programs. This should include recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in other areas of work based on the needs of the department and any other area as necessary in support of Company activities.
  • All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed in accordance with the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) policies and practices.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Business Management with emphasis on Marketing and Sales
  • A minimum of 5 years Sales/Marketing experience in a Food and General commercial environment.

OR

  • 10 years similar experience in a comparable position and industry.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Expert Negotiation Skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Suite 2016)
  • Financial Analytics.
