Salary:$8,500/ mth

Job Summary: Senior level position, reporting directly to the National Director, ND.  To support the organisation’s goals and objectives by assessing and prioritizing the needs, and defining and studying the relevant audiences, in order to develop and implement a communications strategy that would contribute to specific communications goals such as increasing brand awareness, generating relevant traffic to digital channels, and help mobilize donors and volunteers to support its mission in the country, within others.

Reporting: The Employee shall be required to undertake the following tasks:

– To develop a job plan based on the departments’ goals and objectives as defined by the strategic plan
– Reports are due monthly, quarterly and annually to the ND.

Education Requirements: Degree in Marketing/Communication or any other relevant degree

 

Experienced Required:

  • At least 5 years in the area of Communications
  • Must have experience interacting with the media
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge on digital communications platforms (Websites, social media, etc).
  • Must demonstrate competent written skills, including journalistic-style writing.
  • Must have basic Desktop Publishing competence (this is required)
  • Proven ability on creating, editing, and distributing content to different audiences, through different channels and formats.
  • Must demonstrate good inter-personal skills (negotiation skills would be an asset)
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite including experience of multiple document formats and data manipulation using excel and access) (must know to prepare power point presentations)
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and must have a vehicle at their disposal

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and executing an integral and mid-term communications strategy for the company, in order to support the organization’s main objectives. This strategy must include priority objectives, a clear path on how they contribute to major organization’s goals, budget, and a precise KPI (key performance indicators) structure to measure progress; as well as other evaluation tools.
  2. Gathering, editing, producing and distributing, through appropriate channels, content such as –but not limited to- stories, institutional information, imagery and other editorial pieces to promote the company’s mission in T&T. This also includes production and distribution of content to feed the different communications materials and outlets required by the Area Office.
  3. Promote that the organization will be frequently and appropriately mentioned in the local and national news, by maintaining relationships with media outlets and journalists, and producing regular news-worthy content for them.
  4. Support the fundraising efforts of the national office, by generating and distributing appropriate content to attract donors and supporters for the mission, and increasing qualified traffic to the company’s digital channels, amongst other similar efforts.
  5. Enhance all digital communications efforts for the national office, in order to generate and maintain more and better traffic going through the different digital channels established in the communications strategy.
  6. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the company’s local Staff, Area Office Communications Department and other internal-external collaborators, in order to successfully accomplish established objectives.
  7. Maintain a permanent coordination relationship with the Area Office’s Communications Department, in order to receive and offer contributions to the overall company’s communications goals. This may include to ensure that all compliance matters are adhered to the company’s International Brand Guidelines; SOE, GMT, GDPR.
