CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

REPORTING TO: Senior Project Manager

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Ensure project is delivered on time according to required quality standards and without exceeding budget.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Plan, organize, and direct all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  2. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedure and construction problems.
  3. Manage and maintain project schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
  4. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  5. Manage the procurement of project Contractors and Consultants.

 

STAFFING SPECIFICATION

 

Academic/Work Experience

  1. MSc in Construction Management or Professional Licensed in Project Management
  2. Registered Engineer or Registered Project Manager
  3. At least fifteen (15) years’ proven experience in a similar position
  4. Experienced with renovation of multi-storey reinforced concrete building/s
  5. Experience and knowledge of FIDIC will be an asset

Knowledge

           i.     Building and Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures.
         ii.     Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

iii.     Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

        iv.     Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
         v.     Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
