CUSTOMS CLERK (GRADE I OR II)

• Classify goods according to tariff coding system – Examine product information to ensure compliance with regulations
• Determine and track duties and taxes payable and process payments on behalf client. Calculate data to inform organizations and ensure accuracy
• Daily follow up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively
• Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods
• Advise customers on import and export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance
• To liaise with officials in various agencies to ensure that goods are through customs
• Clearance of goods at various bonds, paying for and collecting deliveries needed for clearance from agents
• Prepare Customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of good including other agency releases
• Perform any other duties required in the best interest of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of Ace or Turbo
• Working Knowledge of ASYCUDA
• Computer Literate
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Time Management Skills
• Detailed oriented
• Team Player
