DELIVERY DRIVER

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

 The Delivery Driver is responsible for contributing to the profitability of the organisation’s e-commerce and call centre operations by delivering orders to customers and ensuring that payments are accurately processed and accounted for thereby enabling the successful close of the sales cycle. The incumbent will employ the necessary software and CRM tools to facilitate the seamless execution of the delivery management system.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • To accept accountability for and ensure the accuracy of, packaged items which are picked up for delivery to customers.
  • To facilitate the delivery of customer orders while adhering to Company safety protocols and pre-determined quality of service standards.
  • To contribute towards the achievement of customer satisfaction and good business reputation, while informing and guiding opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • To employ the relevant customer relationship management (CRM) tools needed to access order notifications, while interacting with the same to provide feedback on the status of each order throughout the various stages of the delivery management system.
  • To strictly adhere to the use of company designated methods of payment ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions while accepting liability for payments that are inaccurately processed.
  • To conduct transaction reconciliations adhering to the organisation’s guidelines and standards for reports, discrepancies etc.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Assist with the selection and packaging of items where necessary, ensuring the accuracy of orders by verifying package contents against the listing of orders received for each customer before leaving for delivery.
  • Ensure that goods are safely packaged and sanitized to minimize the possibility of exposure to disease, damage, or theft.
  • Deliver packages to customers ensuring adherence to quality of service standards to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Engage and interact with customers in a manner that promotes the development of a service-oriented environment, handling customer queries and providing feedback to management for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and respond to all orders assigned, adhering to assigned routes and time schedules, using automated delivery management tools to provide status updates through each stage of the delivery process.
  • Process payment transactions via mobile linx machines, strictly adhering to the organisation’s financial policies.
  • Record and submit daily transaction totals, submitting settlement/discrepancy sheets for reconciliation purposes.

 

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 5 CXC passes including Mathematics and English.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role.
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Certificate of Good Character.
