Job Description

 

Job Summary

The Medical Sales and Service Representative supports the marketing and sales plan of the Company.  Under the direction of the Brand Coordinator / Brand Manager, the Representative gathers information on the market for medical equipment and supplies, implements clinical support programs, supports sales tactics that are not necessarily limited to the medical sector, and implements the tactics with the sales team to achieve the Company’s objectives of growth, sustainability and profitability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan, including recommending new lines based on potential in the trade.
  2. Implement the annual business plan to achieve sales goals, revenue and expense controls as defined by management, including promoting the Company’s presence in the market.
  3. Assist in planning and developing the sales team to meet sales forecasts and budgets for all lines, including medical and product knowledge development, and skills development.
  4. Administer the brand’s promotional and clinical functions, i.e. plan, schedule, install, commission, monitor, service equipment; conduct promotional activities, administer aspects of equipment monitoring and maintenance coordination, ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and, where possible, streamline processes and systems, including daily monitoring and reporting.
  5. In collaboration with the Brand Manager/Coordinator, plan and target the customer base identified to meet sales forecasts and budgets for all lines. Provide support to the sales force to ensure the required high standard of customer service in terms of preparing and presenting quotations, servicing and maintaining equipment, assisting in promoting product to key personnel and maintaining existing customer relationships.
  6. Assist and/or handle key accounts as designated by management.
  7. Serve as point of contact for product advice, for example, regarding correct product selection and customer product complaints (repairs and returns).
  8. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and updates on promotional and sales activities, trade information (customer and competitor) and future prospects.
  9. Provide up to date competitor information in the market, including presence, promotional work, prices.
  10. Assist the Brand Manager regarding tools and sponsorship related to the marketing and sales efforts, and in any other ways that are deemed necessary by Management.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. A pleasant, assertive, calm and positive attitude in all situations.
  2. Ability to plan, implement, monitor and report all activities involving sales, service and repair, and when necessary, devise, obtain approval and implement corrective action.
  3. Ability to collaborate with brand coordinators/managers and sales force.
  4. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  5. Ability to deal with customers, vendors and all channels of distribution.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Self motivated and ability to excel with minimum supervision.
  8. Ability to work well with customers and co-workers in a team environment.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years relevant experience in the medical field.
  2. Must own a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s permit.
  3. Medical background, with preference to biomedical engineering with working experience in both dental and medical.
