TITLE: Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Job Description:

Responsible for installing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure that they work properly, safely, and efficiently in conformance with the appropriate standards and codes. Responsible for testing, calibrating, repairing, and cleaning equipment. Execute preventative maintenance programs. Involved in the evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhance opportunities. May be required to direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of department and involves working closely with other process technicians, maintenance technicians and engineers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical and Instrumentation Diploma in either of the following or equivalent qualifications:
    • National Engineering Technician (NETD) Diploma
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technician (EEET) Diploma
  • Computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and instrumentation
  • Working experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in the field or related area with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Customer service
  • Interpreting schematic drawings
  • Relay logic diagrams
  • PLC control programs
