This position reports to, and consults with, the Plant Manager, and is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the overall asset management strategy for all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Process activities throughout the lifecycle of the Company’s GTL Facility. The role functions as the overall Engineering Technical Authority for the acceptance of all systems and equipment on behalf of the Company, there is accountability for ensuring that all equipment selected, installed, operated and maintained during the construction, commissioning and operational phases meets applicable standards, codes and industry best practices.
Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing leadership to Engineering and Maintenance Team, inclusive of Senior Engineers , and where required, and providing Technical expertise for Operations and other applicable Departments. A key responsibility is the development, reporting and monitoring of all Key Performance Indicators for measuring the effectiveness of the Asset Integrity Management Programme (inclusive of Turnarounds) and individual/team performance under the position’s purview.
Qualifications/ Experience Required
BSc in Mechanical, E&I or Process Engineering and an MSc or MBA post graduate degree, with a minimum of fifteen (15) years Senior Level experience in Engineering and Maintenance in the Petrochemical and/or Oil and Gas sector, with proven experience in executing Engineering and Maintenance in Petrochemical and Process plants. At least five (5) years’ experience is required in managing Plant Turnarounds and shutdowns, complemented with no less than five (5) years’ experience with managing and leading multi-discipline teams. The ideal candidate must also possess a minimum of five (5) years working experience with the development and delivery of Engineering improvement OPEX and CAPEX projects.
Sound knowledge of Process Plants technology, process plant equipment, maintenance management systems, mechanical integrity systems, project management, and full versed in applicable industry standards and codes, such as API, ASME and NFPA.
Working knowledge and Experience with the MS Office suite, MS Projects or Primavera, AutoCAD and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as MAXIMO, Docushare, SAP or JD Edwards; Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping Isometric Drawings and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA’s) techniques, such as HAZOPS and What If’s.
Highly organized with proven experience in being able to prioritize and multi task effectively and efficiently with all levels end users and suppliers both verbally and written are critical competencies.
