Applications are invited for the position of FACILITIES TECHNICIAN (CONTRACT)

in the ADMINISTRATION DIVISION.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES

To execute the designing of floor plans, updating TTBS floor plans as necessary and coordinating and monitoring of projects with contractors. The incumbent would be responsible for maintaining routine inspections of building services, installations and systems (electrical, plumbing and air conditioning.)

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a programme of planned preventive maintenance and repair schedules throughout TTBS.
  • Design layouts for floor upgrades and refurbishment projects.
  • Develop a scope of works, monitor and supervise contractors during project implementation stage for upgrade and refurbishment projects.
  • Perform quality assurance and ensures that vendors/contractors fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with contractors for the provision of services for modification to building inclusive of A/C works, electrical works, piping and plumbing works, fire suppression works and provide quality checks on contractors in accordance with contracts.
  • Assist in the procurement of essential materials and/or equipment required to maintain facility readiness.
  • Upgrade existing floor plans for TTBS.
  • Convert all TTBS drawings from hard copy to digital.
  • Draft and submit reports and advise of problems on quality and completion of all projects as required.
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.
  • Supervise all maintenance repairs in relation to buildings and utilities.
  • Respond appropriately to staff emergencies or urgent/non routine issues as they arise.
  • Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problems.
  • Create and continuously update technical files for plant and equipment from liaison with suppliers.
  • Maintain record keeping and related information regarding in-process or completed maintenance works.
  • Establish job priorities and time frames for maintenance staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Technician’s Diploma and/or an Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other related areas. Also a National Craftsman’s Certificate or its equivalent in the following: Air Conditioning, Electrical and Plumbing. At least three (3) years experience in a maintenance environment. Working knowledge of project management skills. Knowledge of OSH Act and Health and Safety principles and practices. Ability to work with and create technical drawings; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic evaluation and measurement skills.
