Job Purpose:

The Field Officer plays a key role in helping the Organization meet and exceed its sales goals by managing and negotiating with members, generating leads, qualifying potential members and managing sales of all the Organization’s products and services. He / She will be responsible for meeting established targets in assigned areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Acquisition and Sales Portfolio Management:

  • Develop strategies for meeting agreed Sales targets
  • Ensure that sales plans are executed and targets achieved as per the Sales Strategy and take remedial actions when targets are not achieved.
  • Lead all aspects of the sales and business development process in the assigned territory.
  • Market the Organization’s products and services on a daily basis to existing and prospective host companies with emphasis on Loans, Savings Accounts and Fixed Deposits.
  • Generate business through cold calling, personal visits etc.
  • Meet with existing and potential Members to meet their needs. Receive Membership and Loan Applications Forms. Will be responsible for interviewing the loan applicants and completing all relevant paperwork before it is delivered to the assigned person at the Branch.
  • Provide Daily and Weekly Reports and attend weekly Sales Meetings at the relevant Branch.
  • Provide effective and efficient after sales service to Members and Host companies.

 

Relationship Management:

  • Conduct on site visits to ensure that the needs of Members’ and Host Companies are met and the Organization maintains a reputation as being easy to do business with. Maintain contact with and continuously develop relationships with Members and Host companies.

 

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop sales / call reports
  • Monitoring and tracking the effectiveness of executed sales plans and producing relevant reports on a regular basis to reflect same.
  • Tracking and reporting – Providing updated reports on a weekly and monthly basis on actual vs targets.

 

Visibility:

  • Improve visibility and brand image of the Organization.
  • Act as ambassador for the Organization with the aim of positively improving the corporate image of the Organization.
  • Increase networking to enhance new membership growth opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales and business development initiatives

 

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Business, Marketing or allied field
  • Proficient in developing presentations eg. using Powerpoint
  • Three (3) years professional sales experience  in the financial sector
  • Proven experience in meeting and exceeding sales targets

 

Key Requirements:

  • Must own a working vehicle.
  • Must have facilities to meet with Members and potential Members.
  • Must have an updated Police Certificate of Character.

 

Special Abilities and Aptitudes:

  • Excellent sales, communication/ interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with little or no supervision
  • Experience in negotiating assertively and dealing with members under difficult circumstances.
  • Computer Literate
  • Development and delivering of presentations with the aim of increasing Member base
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality when handling member enquiries.
