Overview

Our client, in the manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant. The Financial Accountant will be reporting to the company’s CFO. The Financial Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. This individual is also responsible for coordinating planning for interim and year-end audits; and audits with internal auditors.


Description

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the relevant reporting designations within the Finance Department.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports in accordance to company policies and procedures and IRFS.
  • Prepare Quarterly Consolidation Packages and other financial reports for Head Office.
  • Prepare information required on CFO & MD reports.
  • Prepare monthly reports related to all financial activities as requested by the management team.
  • Ensure accurate flash and deliver flash financial performance as required with supporting explanations.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in the accounting procedures to ensure accurate, timely and complete records aligned to company policies and IFRS.
  • Ensures full compliance with the Groups Accounting Policies and procedures and IFRS.
  • Management, preparation and control of all aspects of tax management.
  • Ensure all statutory taxes are paid as the law permits on a timely basis.
  • Ensure Accurate Tax calculations and entries to GL.
  • Prepare all statutory request for government agencies and other statistical authorities.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with procedures per ISO9001 standards and the Company’s Quality Systems Manual.
  • Participate in Training and Development activities as required.
  • Maintain, support, and promote a safe work environment while complying with all the Company’s safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Set Performance Standards, monitor performance and conduct performance assessments for direct reports.
  • Create and Manage an auditable system which preserve all physical financial records as required by statute.
  • Manage credit risk through prudent decision making over the approval process and ensure all overdue amounts are followed-up to minimize bad debts.
  • Ensure all vendors’ accounts are reconciled monthly and no overdue amount is greater than terms.
  • Process Journal entries for management payroll.
  • Conduct any other related duties that may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree would be an asset
  • Fully ACCA Certified (i.e. completed level 3 ACCA)
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience – Finance / Accounting
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing sector in Accounting Role.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A combination of relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.
