About the role:

Auto mechanic is responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairs of the Actavo fleet. This role is well suited to people who enjoy troubleshooting and solving complex problems. Applicants should be skilled in technical expertise, have analytical abilities a good attention to detail. This is a full-time role. Your goal will always be to aim for the fleets maximum functionality and reliability to provide timely resolutions on activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update work log for works completed on each vehicle
• Completing preventative maintenance on vehicles such as but not limited to; routine servicing to engine, suspension and brakes, etc.
• Completed repair and ad hoc work on vehicles to ensure they are fit for use.
• Work with Department leads to understand availability and plan vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Service scheduling planning
• Servicing of fleet in line with vehicle and company requirements
• Uploading and management of fleet records into Actavo fleet management system
• Schedule and arrange regulatory inspection certificates and government registrations
• Keep a clean and well maintained designated work environment
• Ensure workplace activities are conducted in line with company safety standards and best practices
• Assist with ad-hoc vehicle tracker installations
• Complete inspections and test drives to verify soundness and sign off
• Inventory management and assisting of the procurement/ collection of parts and equipment
• Perform minor welding activities
• Installation and management of vehicle tracking system
• Exterior vehicle cleaning and vehicle sanitizing
• Follow up on vehicle damages and assist in root cause investigations
• Reporting and utilisation of fleet and safety management systems
• Ad-hoc requests when required
• Advise company drivers on good vehicle use

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
• 3+ years of experience as an Auto Mechanic or similar role
• Ability to handle various tools
• Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet tight deadlines
• Be determined and committed to delivering high quality standards
• Strong Communication skills
• Full, clean driving license
• Computer literate and ability to manage use Microsoft office
• Possess excellent time keeping and time management skills
• Flexibility to travel, work shifts in line with business requirements
• Proactive approach to maintaining and improving fleet standards
