JOB SUMMARY:

The Group Executive Manger – Human Resources is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the human resources and industrial relations activities of the Company and its subsidiary in order to maximise the strategic and operational use of all resources.

  • Provide strategic and operational direction for the following human resource services:
    • Recruitment, selection and induction activities to attract and retain the best-fit employees.
    • Competitive and attractive compensation, rewards, benefit and incentive plans
    • Performance management system linking individual performance to organisational outcomes.
    • Training and development plans and strategies ensuring employees have the required skills and competencies.
    • Adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements in health and safety and industrial relations and all other employment laws and statutory bodies.
  • Develop, periodically review and implement a human resource plan that is aligned with the Company’s strategic direction.
  • Work as an active member of the Executive Management Team to establish and execute the strategic direction of the Company and its subsidiary; develop operational plans with applicable KPIs and report monthly on the achievement of targets/goals.
  • Provide advice and counsel the HR/IR Committee of the Board of Directors on industrial relations matters; leads and represents the Company in such matters.
  • Provide advice, counsel and coach senior executives and managers on best HR/IR practices ensuring effective development and management of all human resources,
  • Develop and maintains the Employee Handbook, Health and Safety Manual and all other relevant new and existing human resource policies and procedures.
  • Develop succession and manpower plans to promote potential and high-performance internal talent and ensure staffing requirements are at the required levels at all times.
  • Prepare, coordinate and administer the annual human resource budget.
  • Supervise, coach, train and mentor members of the Human Resource Department of the Company and its subsidiary including completing performance appraisals and any required developmental plans.
  • Performing any other management related duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. First Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or any related Social Science.
  2. Master’s Degree in a related discipline would be an asset.
  3. At least eight (8) years’ experience in Human Resources, five (5) of which should be at a senior management level.
  4. Sound knowledge of all functional areas of HR administration, policies and employment legislation.
  5. Demonstrates strong leadership and management capabilities.
  6. Excellent coaching, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential.
  7. Specialized training in Industrial/Labour Relations.
  8. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  9. Knowledge of Human Resource Systems – working knowledge of HRPlus will be an asset.
  10. Experience in change management and business transformation will be an asset.
