HOUSE MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced and responsible House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a private household, including upkeep, maintenance, and day to day tasks. The House Manager will manage and supervise household staff, maintain the property, oversee budgets, and ensure the highest standards of service for the homeowners. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and will be required to live in.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise household staff, including housekeepers, cooks, and others 
  • Create schedules and assign tasks to household staff.
  • Provide oversight of all household activities assuring timely and high-quality completion of all tasks. 
  • Supervise the work of contractors, service people, and all other household and non-household employees assuring the best quality of work, and adherence to all household standards and expectations.
  • Develop and manage a budget for shopping lists for all household items
  •  Perform shopping and errands in accordance with employer’s guidelines.
  • Ensure the household runs smoothly by managing inventory.
  • Responsible for making and following up with doctor’s appointments the client may have.
  • Required to accompany client for medical care, and to fulfill prescriptions as and when necessary.
  • Coordinate household events and oversee guest accommodations and hospitality.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive household matters.
  • Provide a high level of service to the homeowners and ensure their needs and preferences are met.
  • Will be required to live in.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a House Manager or similar role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Education:

  • Must possess a Secondary School full certificate including Mathematics and English.
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing would be considered an asset. 
  • Courses in healthcare and care-giving services.
  • Registered nurse qualification will be considered an asset but not a requirement.
