JOB   DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION      :      Houseman

REPORTS TO:      Housekeeping Supervisor

 

    

SCOPE

  • To clean guest rooms, administration and other areas, provide agreed upon room amenities and present the hotel to guests at agreed upon consistently high standards.
  • Responsible for general upkeep of Hotel Grounds and Guest Contact Areas.

 

      RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Clean guest rooms and all common areas.
  • Wash and iron hotel and restaurant linens and towels, as required
  • Ensure a supply of in-room necessities such as bedding, sheets and towels to guests.
  • Inform responsible departments of any damages in guest rooms
  • Answer guests enquiries
  • Maintain cleanliness in the public area and employee back of the house.
  • To deliver linen and supplies to the floors.
  • Complete maintenance request forms for all items in disrepair or damaged.
  • Restock and empty linens and supplies on assigned guest floors.
  • Report all missing and lost and found items immediately.
  • Remove dirty linens and trash from room attendants’ carts.
  • Distribute clean linens to the room attendants’ carts.
  • Ensure linen chute areas are clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure all storage areas are clean and well maintained.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the public area and employee back of the house.
  • Assist room attendants when needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor

  • Ensure that adequate information is provided for completing tasks and seek clarification as required
  • Inform supervisor of all unsafe conditions observed and the occurrence of incidents or accidents
  • Securing, inspecting and using assigned PPE, tools and equipment appropriately

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  & EXPERIENCE

  • One year of experience in a similar position (an asset)
