OVERVIEW

Our client in the service industry, is seeking a capable Human Resource Officer, for their operations. The company is a growing organisation and the successful incumbent must be willing to grow and assist in developing the company. The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for the development and overseeing of the overall human resource systems of the company. This includes all policies and procedures surrounding, recruitment and hiring, training and evaluation, discipline, and termination. The officer will also be responsible for fostering a safe and positive work environment, and look at ways of improving employee morale.  The officer must also be the bridge between team members and upper management by effectively communicating management memos and bringing employee issues to the attention of management


RESPONSIBILITIES

Creating effective systems to manage the entire Human Resource process including:

  • Creating and updating job descriptions and employee agreements
  • Evaluating and developing HR policies and systems
  • Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system
  • Managing and filing new applications
  • Recruiting and hiring of new staff
  • Managing company scheduling system
  • Orientation and training of new staff
  • Develop training programs for company staff in customer service
  • Overseeing disciplinary and termination process
  • Developing and conducting performance evaluations
  • Mentoring and guiding employees
  • Boost employee morale by fostering a positive working environment
  • Reviewing the company’s policies and suggest how they can be improved (health and safety, PPE, uniform, salary packages, incentives)
  • Effectively communicating management memos to team members
  • Conducting regular meetings with team members and bringing their issues to the attention of management along with possible solutions on how we can address them

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent HRM certification
  • Five years’ experience in a similar position
  • Able to bring structure, to an unstructured environment
  • Should be able to work in a small/medium sized enterprise
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Organized and professional
  • Respectful, courteous and persuasive
  • Systems oriented
  • Must speak fluent English and Spanish
