The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Support Technician provides first line support to Unipet’s network of operations. The incumbent supports all employees, dealers, business partner and other stakeholders with ICT related issues and projects. The incumbent also provides administrative ICT support to the ICET Team Leader or designated representative. The incumbent handles different types of data as dictated by the Petrochemical Industry and is expected to operate in a highly confidential manner.


  • Support development of policies/procedures/documentation for managing and supporting ICT solutions.
  • Support the management of ICT asset inventory and keep track of asset movement
  • Advise Finance department of asset arrival and disposal.
  • Act as a liaison among stakeholders to ensure new ICT solution implementation are done in accordance with company policy and industry best practice.
  • Maintain optimum levels of consumables for ICT related tool and equipment such as POS paper, access, ID and payment cards etc.
  • Assist in database design, implementation and integration in support of the organization objectives.
  • Keep abreast of new technology, version updates and emerging ICT trends in the Petrochemical Industry.


  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, networks, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain equipment and networks infrastructure.
  • Provides technical support for all user request in a timely and efficient manner in keeping with set Key Performance Indicators.
  • Monitor and support Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) environment ensuring maximum uptime for systems and users.
  • Manage active directory by creating and deactivating users ensuring full user details are captured.
  • Support the management of Office365 accounts, this includes but is not limited to monitoring available licenses, applying appropriate user packages, adding and removing users, and creating groups as required.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems including but not limited to SharePoint environment, Verifone point of sale system, server-client issues, mobile devices, hardware/software faults.
  • Support the Implementation and maintenance of all connected ecosystem items, i.e. point of sale, pay at the pump devices, back-office accounting systems, LED price signs, car wash, coin dispensers, CCTV systems and any other equipment/application as required.
  • Conduct periodic preventative maintenance on equipment (cleaning, changing of parts etc) in accordance with approved ICT guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain the access control system by assigning and deactivating access cards, making updates to user locations and door groups.
  • Support the maintenance of security and surveillance infrastructure by assigning and deactivating users and granting access levels based on job role/requirements.
  • Support the onboarding process i.e. issue and distribute employee ID and other electronic access credentials.
  • Support the management of the loyalty card program and other card solutions.
  • Support the transport division ensuring equipment and software for mobile fuel solution is fit for purpose and make recommendations where applicable.
  • Monitor multiple databases and ensure security, availability, and integrity of data.
  • Set up, update, and amend existing databases and data handling systems as required.
  • Develop strategies for testing ICT processes, configure test environments and identify, analyze, document problems and solutions.
  • Ensure systems are backed up and restored periodically.
  • Research and test new technology which would add value or improve processes within the company.
  • Ensure all documents related to policies, procedures and manuals are maintained in accordance with company standards and updated regularly.
  • Conduct staff training session on ICT equipment/solution.
  • Interact with third party service providers and business partners where required to resolve issues.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in ICT Technology field from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma/certification in Database management, Network management and/or Verifone Point of Sale solutions from a recognized institution will be an asset.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an ICT environment.
  • Two years’ experience supporting ICT equipment, applications, WAN and LAN environment.
  • Two years’ experience managing/supporting the SharePoint environment.
  • Two years’ experience implementing and supporting database systems.
  • Two years’ experience working with Application Program Interface (API) and middleware to link multiple independent databases.
  • A valid Trinidad and Tobago driver’s license.
