Provide technical support throughout the company, providing excellent end user experience, which includes resolving potential or actual technical issues as well as troubleshooting different software packages, hardware devices, and other peripherals.
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
Ensure network connectivity throughout the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
Procurement, installation, administration and maintenance of server/s, individual desktop, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, VOIP phones and other network related equipment.
Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smart phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
Maintain network hardware and software as well as analyze and isolate issues.
Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
Perform periodic checks on equipment/system performance and effect performance tuning as necessary.
Perform system back-up (operating system, applications and data) in accordance with standard procedure.
Monitor and enforce security procedures to comply with corporate standards.
Ensure equipment response and reliability meets client requirements.
Investigate root causes of client complaints and queries, and take remedial action.
Install computer equipment and related hardware components.
Install applications software approved for use within the Company, including operating system software.
Perform routine data storage and retrieval, and requested storage/retrieval based on documented client requests.
Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments.
Perform routine audits of systems and software.
Design and deploy networks.
At least 3 years experience in systems administration environment, or
At least 2 years experience as systems operator/administrator, or relevant IT certification, a plus
At least three (3) years’ experience in Networking; Switchers, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP
A BSc. Degree in Computer Information Systems will be an Asset.
Ability to work some nights and weekends and “on call” as required
