Overview
The Junior Analyst provides research and information to assist the Senior Investment/Business Analyst in making decisions about investments, ensuring that the investment portfolio is well managed and that investment opportunities are highlighted. The Junior Analyst also provides the necessary reports and data for decision making processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis of Local and International Securities.
Conduct due diligence on companies and industries by researching, analysing financial statements and market data to determine how an organization is positioned to deliver for investors.
Monitor macro and micro economic factors and developments that can affect markets.
Identify a minimum of 2 potential investments per week.
Conduct research and analysis for strategic and business opportunities.
Assist with overall Portfolio Management with reference to the Investment Policy Statement of the Credit Union.
Make recommendations on asset allocations, articulating to the Senior Investment/Business Analyst about the risk or payoff for each recommendation.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a framework for monitoring and evaluating macro and micro economic and financial information with reference to the CU legislation (existing and proposed), CBTT Monthly Repo Reports, CBTT Yield Curve, Other Local and Global Economic Data.
Improve on the presentation, relevance and accuracy of information used for strategic decision making at the Board Level.
Assist in the coordination and execution of Special Projects under the purview of the Senior Investment/Business Analyst.
Continuously examine and assess local and global economic and market trends and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies.
Compile advisory reports and make informed recommendations on new investment opportunities and funds that could enhance or diversify the investment portfolio.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for management and the Board of Directors. These include Investment Reports, Management Reports, CBTT Reports, Loan Provisioning Report, PEARLS etc.
Prepare reports and proposals on varying aspects of the Credit Union’s operations.
Prepare reports on procedures and policies of the Credit Union.
Any other function deemed necessary based on the objectives of the Credit Union
Requirements
First degree in Finance, Accounting or any related field.
A minimum of one (1) years’ working experience in the Financial Services sector.
Experience in conducting and analysing research will be an asset.
