PURPOSE OF JOB 

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance of fuel equipment including, changing of fueling and dispenser spare parts including hoses, dispensers, nozzles, filters etc.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • To provide support to the Maintenance Department during routine and/or unplanned Maintenance of fuel operations equipment as required.
  • To provide technical and physical support towards completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on fuel dispensers.
  • Conduct general maintenance and repairs on fuel operations equipment. The Maintenance Technician performs the replacement of hanging hardware on fuel dispensers/fuel pumps.
  • Maintain the company’s dispensers, fuel equipment and all appurtenances associated with fuel equipment/fuel operations.
  • Follow the maintenance department’s safety rules and policies when performing his duties.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and proposes innovative methods to correct them.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Consult with Supervisor daily to obtain work assignments, keeping Supervisor informed of all activities, needs and issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining detailed diagnosed problem/issue and solutions taken to resolve them.
  • Install new parts (Filters, Swivels, Nozzles, Breakaways, etc.) and test them to ensure they are working correctly.
  • Act as point of contact between maintenance/sanitation team and store managers for the completion of the day-to-day maintenance of fuel operations equipment (Hanging Hardware).
  • Provide technical support remotely to users for applicable problems and solutions.
  • Ensure that weekly and monthly preventative maintenance inspection checklists are completed and given to Maintenance Administrator, Update spreadsheets.
  • Educate station managers/dealers on proper equipment usage and maintenance of their equipment.
  • Report and records equipment abnormal conditions promptly to the Supervisor.
  • Order parts needed for repairs if needed.
  • Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers
  • Assist in all maintenance and facilities upkeep where necessary.
  • Assist in the completion of Maintenance and/or Sanitation Tasks as and where required.
  • Generate appropriate and timely Maintenance Reports when required.

ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • National Engineering Technician Diploma (Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics).
  • A background in Maintenance/Sanitation systems/procedures would be an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance.
  • Ability to accurately read equipment manuals understand schematic diagrams, troubleshooting and/or installation of new/old equipment.
  • Knowledge of CNG systems would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Gilbarco Dispensers, Pumps and Equipment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, coordinate, and execute tasks.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard mechanical, electrical and sanitation terminology and practices.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be able to rapidly deliver results & possess the ability to catch on quickly to new ideas and processes.
