Key Duties:

  • Enters payroll data on ledgers, control sheets, vouchers, or other accounting records.
  • Inputs payroll data into financial accounting system.
  • Collect and interpret benefit selections for employee payroll deductions; make adjustments for over/under deductions.
  • Compile and verify information to process payments to insurance providers and pension plans.
  • Reconcile insurance premiums and pension plans by comparing/balancing worksheets for adjustments to deductions.
  • Schedule/organize/prioritize deduction changes to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Communicate with employees and outside agencies to confirm discrepancies/explain distributions.  Compose letters/memos to employees in reference to changes.
  • Compile spreadsheet reports; enter data for balancing of reports.
  • Maintain records of monthly payments from payroll deductions.
  • Assists in reconciling general ledger to payroll reports.
  • Prepares periodic payroll, statistical or operational reports as assigned.
  • Composes, types, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Maintains all payroll reports, spreadsheets and files.
  • Assists in monthly closings.
  • Respond to all Payroll Helpdesk and other Payroll related queries as required.
  • Prepares analysis of payroll, as required.
  • Performs filing and copying.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) or Associate of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or Associate of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Level I
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
