Royal Castle Limited is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following permanent position:

PAYROLL CLERK 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

  1. Collects, compiles and enters payroll data using approved software.
  2. Reviews wages computed and ensures accuracy of payroll.
  3. Collects and verifies timekeeping information for fortnightly rated employees.
  4. Inputs new hires and personnel changes into the system ensuring that computer records are up to date and accurate.
  5. Processes all employee exits on the system, verifying that all deductions or monies owed are administered in a timely fashion.
  6. Addresses employee payroll related concerns, promptly, and provides accurate information, as required.
  7. Performs updates of employee leave (vacation, sick, casual etc.) accruals and usage.
  8. Records changes affecting employee net wages such as loan payments, incentives, salary deductions etc. and updates payroll system, where necessary.
  9. Generates fortnightly payroll reports for review by Management.
  10. Processes and issues annual TD4 Statements to employees.
  11. Completes reports related to new hires, terminations, current placements etc. and forwards to the Human Resources Manager.
  12. Performs any other related tasks.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

      Knowledge: 

  • Accounting/Payroll principles
  • Standard National Insurance calculations
  • Personal Income Taxation and principles governing statutory deductions
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
  • Payroll/HRIS software

 

Ability to:

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Perform basic data entry and process computer data, to format and generate reports
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency to meet deadlines
  • Function in a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Critically analyse and solve problems

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum qualification of five (5) CXC O’ Level Passes including English, Mathematics and Accounts

OR

A combination of relevant experience and qualifications

  • ACCA I qualification or other equivalent certification would be considered an asset
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ Payroll/Accounting experience in a similar role for a medium to large organization
