JOB TITLE Process Technician
REPORTS TO Director, Operations
DEPARTMENT Packaging

 

Job Summary:

Coordinate, the packaging processes so that products are delivered on time and within budget. Ensure goods are produced safely, cost-effectively, and within the established deadlines, having met quality standards.

Core responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Sales and Marketing department on a daily basis to ensure orders are received, allowing sufficient time for planning of raw material, packaging and labor requirements.
  • Assign staff to relevant machines and lines based on production plan and manpower availability.
  • Plan weekly production schedules for machines and lines, in collaboration with the Production and Packaging Manager.
  • Place orders for raw materials from warehouse based on daily production plan.
  • Prepare and print relevant labels and tags for finished goods.
  • Collaborate with the Q/C technician to ensure finished goods meet customer satisfaction.
  • Check raw materials after daily production runs and ensure its return to warehouse/ cold storage to prevent infestation or spoilage.
  • Track daily wastage and prepare documents for as per procedure for disposal.
  • Rectify any queries and discrepancies reported by the Q/C technician in a timely manner.
  • Data entry of all daily production and finished goods using the ERP system.
  • Plan any routine, preventive and scheduled maintenance required in consultation with the Production and Packaging Manage and Operations supervisor
  • Assist in the costing and profiling of items produced to ensure budgetary specifications are met.
  • Participate in department and company quality and food safety programs.
  • Ensure all employees manage products in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and yearly physical stock counts planned by the P&P Manager.
  • Contribute to the Production and Packaging department strategic plan and assist in execution of same to ensure the effective long-term sustainability of the operations.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with HSE guidelines and processes.
  • Perform specified duties of Production and Packaging Manager in his/her absence.
  • Assist in the creation of processes and procedures within the specific area of the department to ensure efficiency and effective flow of work is achieved.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management that may be deemed necessary for the effective functioning of the department.

 

Education and Experience

  • Process Technician Certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Over two years of working experience within a production environment
