JOB SUMMARY

The Production Attendant is required to be part of a production team that creates high quality frozen desserts. He/she performs a variety of routine tasks including filling, covering, coding, inspecting, sorting, packaging, casing product, checking dates and labels for accuracy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Operation Manager of Creamery Novelties directly.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Assist with the daily cleaning, assembly and disassembly of production equipment in order to start production operations and at the end of operations.
2. Pays attention to detail, must be able to complete multiple and repetitive tasks and must be committed to safety, accuracy and quality.
3. Monitor product filling line for proper container fill.
4. Manually fill product into various packages.
5. Manually pack product into cartons.
6. Ensure packages are properly sealed.
7. Ensure labeling is properly affixed.
8. Ensure correct date coding on individual packages and cartons.
9. Assist in operating various machines to prepare ice cream mixes and chocolate coating and to convert prepared mixes into finished products. Machines include but are not limited to electronic balances, blending systems, pasteurizing systems, homogenizers, fillers, carton openers and coding machines.
10. Assist in proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and ancillaries before, during and after use.
11. Assist in operating various machines to prepare ice cream mixes and chocolate coating and to convert prepared mixes into finished products. Machines include but not limited to electronic balances, blending systems, Pasteurising systems, homogenisers, fillers, carton openers and coding machines.
12. Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, safety and quality system standards.
13. Ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and ancillaries before, during and after use.
14. Assist in recording all daily production neatly, accurately and legibly on the production forms capturing output levels and machine performance.
15. Assist in ensuring machinery, equipment and designated work area are properly maintained, kept clean and organised for efficient and safe production.
16. Ensure products are properly filled, are of the correct size and correctly date coded
17. Work closely with the QC department to ensure compliance to specifications, to resolve product quality and safety issues.
18. Perform any other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Secondary school certification or other relevant qualification.
2. Ability to read, write, count and perform arithmetic computations.
3. Standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, twisting, stooping.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Previous production and/or manufacturing experience is desired but not essential.
2. Ambition to learn.
3. Able to work in a team environment.
4. Must be able to receive and follow instructions.
5. Ability to work shifts, overtime, and weekends.
6. Must be able to lift and move up to 50lb (23kg).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Previous experience in dairy operations or other Food Manufacturing Environment
2. 2 – 3 years’ experience in food processing
