JOB SUMMARY

The role of the the Reinsurance & Regulatory Accountant is to perform the company’s reinsurance accounting function as well as oversee the regulatory reporting function for all territories.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate the company’s core values in your daily operation: Honesty & integrity, Love & Care, Growth & Continuous Improvement, Responsibility and Collaboration
  • Adhere to the company’s policies, rules and regulations
  • Monthly review of reinsurance reports for accuracy;
  • Monthly review/posting of reinsurance journals and deferrals;
  • Quarterly preparation and submission of reinsurance treaty accounts;
  • Ad hoc review of reinsurance submissions;
  • Adhoc preparation of papers re accounting for special transactions / other special assignments;
  • Taxation accounting including monthly computation and reviewing for efficiency
  • Periodic and timely tax payments;
  • Preparation of Tax returns for the region;
  • Preparation & review of quarterly regulatory returns for the region, ensuring timely submission;
  • Preparation/Review of annual regulatory returns for the region, ensuring timely submission;
  • Reinsurance Creditor Reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual territorial financial statements;
  • Liaising with external auditors re territorial regulatory submissions;
  • Analytical review of monthly performance;
  • Assistance with month end financial reporting;

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA Qualified
  • Five (5) years working experience in a finance related role
  • Audit Experience
  • Knowledge of Insurance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite inclusive of Excel
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience
