CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

RENTAL AGENT – Short Term Rentals – Piarco & Morvant Locations

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Greet and provide a high level of customer service to all customers according to Brand standards.
  • Prepare all rental and return documents accurately and completely.
  • Use Company approved sales and service techniques when determining customer needs.
  • Ensure that each customer meets the required standards in line with company rental requirement guidelines. (e.g. payment qualification)
  • Meet monthly specified sales target as set out by the company.
  • Prepare Success – Failure Logs and submit to the Location Supervisors at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare and submit all insurance forms for damages to the Operations Coordinator at the end of each shift.
  • Complete full examination on all rented and returned vehicles to check for damages including checking for the vehicle insurance, gas level, spare tire and tools according to our standard company checklist.
  • Update incident log with vehicles to be switched out, changed or extended and ensure that the customers are contacted. 
  • Print Daily Balance Report (DBR) at the end of each shift and submit to the Location Supervisor.
  • File and scan closed and open contracts.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation on vehicles before and at the end of shift. 
  • Call all overdue and due in customers, daily. Follow up with the Location Supervisor on any issues arising.
  • Fuel vehicles, as required.
  • Install license plates on all vehicles, as required.
  • Ensure that the rental insurance documents are maintained in the vehicle and escalate to Location Supervisor, if missing or incorrect.
  • Update the rental system (TSD) with notes regarding vehicles in maintenance, accidents, mileage, gas amount, customer concerns and comments etc.
  • Charge and release credit card deposit authorization at the beginning and end of each rental period.
  • Review rental parameters with all customers to ensure a complete understanding of our rates and service charges.
  • Ensure that the return date and time on the rental agreement is accurate.
  • Review all charges at the time of vehicle return with the customer.
  • Prepare the Rental Agreement Folder with all required information.
  • Maintain the appearance of the rental counters according to Brand / Company standards.
  • Assist and coordinate customers within the queue to minimize any wait time.
  • Perform other customer service related duties in addition to those listed, to ensure our service meets the needs of the customer.
  • Driving between locations including to and from the back and front counter locations at the airport
  • Assist customers by effectively resolving all customer service issues and ensure that the Location Supervisor is advised.

 

EDUCATIONAL / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 C.X.C O’Level passes including Mathematics and English with minimum of 2 A’ Level passes or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience in the rental car industry or a similar role.
  • A Completed tertiary level education in hospitality or tourism will be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a customer service environment. Rental specific experience will be considered an asset. 
  • A valid Driver’s License. (Defensive Driving Certificate will be an asset)
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends and Public Holidays, when necessary.
