Sales and Marketing Representative

(MEDICAL EQUIPMENT DIVISION)

 

Job Summary:

The Sales and Marketing Representative is responsible for the sales and services of medical equipment, products and services to a variety of markets, primarily including hospitals, medical centres and doctors’ practices.  

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promotes/sells/secures medical equipment and consumable orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Establishes business relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Markets the company’s line of products to clients resulting in increased sales targets
  • Follow up on referrals and new leads
  • Makes telephone calls, visits current and prospective clients
  • Negotiates with clients and finalizes sales
  • Prepares proposals, agreements, sales reports and presentations for management and clients
  • Keeps management informed by submitting reports, such as visit activity reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analysis
  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the market segment
  • Creates, develops and maintains profiles for reference accounts within the geography of coverage
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and creating market opportunities
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of the company’s line of products
  • Applies product knowledge to troubleshooting and resolve customer complaints
  • Supports local, regional and national trade shows as required
  • Supports sales presentations by assembling quotations, proposals, videos, slide shows, demonstrations and product capability booklets; compiling account and competitor analyses
  • Prepares mailers and brochures by formatting content and graphics; arranging printing and internet packages
  • Hosts customers and suppliers (local and foreign)
  • Provides customer support pre-sale and post-sale
  • Stimulates policies and procedures to manage customer inquiries and defection problems
  • Participates in training all new staff to assist with the daily operations within the department
  • Works closely with other departments, assisting in co-ordination resulting in the sound functioning of the organization
  • Meets and executes Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set out in the Department

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Tertiary level qualification in Medical/Health or Sciences field 
  • Certification and specialized training as a Nursing professional, Radiology or MRI Technologists or Operating Theatre Technician will be an asset
  • Experience in sales and marketing of medical equipment will be a definite asset
  • A minimum of two (2) years sales experience in medical equipment and consumables field
  • Must have experience in negotiating with clients and finalizing sales 
  • Superlative analytical abilities, strong business intuition, a passion for problem solving, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to travel (in and outside of T&T)
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Must possess a good working vehicle
