SALES REPRESENTATIVE

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for all sales activities in an assigned territory to achieve sales target based on and/or market segment, expand customer base and grow the market by effectively selling the company’s products. Work within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction as it relates to product delivery, product quality and customer complaints.

 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates products and services to existing and potential customers and assists them in selecting the products best suited to their needs.
  • Generate new business and serve existing customers by establishing, developing, and maintaining business relationships in an assigned market segment.
  • Visit existing and prospective customers’ regularly making person to person presentations.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Team Lead in the development of business plan to achieve revenue.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Handle customer’s complaints in a timely manner
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plan as needed.
  • Coordinates sales efforts, sales management, accounting, logistics and production.
  • Analyzes the market’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization.
  • Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interest, competitive advertising, and promotional trends through market research.
  • Responsible to keep account receivable current in keeping with the company’s’ guidelines as it   pertains to customers credit terms and limit.
  • Maintain professional internal & external relationships in keeping with the company core values at all times
  • Adhere to company policies
  • Any other duties assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years-experience in the food industry.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must own your own vehicle.
  • Able to communicate effectively and persuasively to a high volume of people throughout the workday.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of imported seafood products will be an asset.
  • Strong customer relations and understanding of food service and retail seafood distribution.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and able to multitask.
  • Well organized and capable of working in a team or individually with little supervision.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
