SERVICE MANAGER

 

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and directing the Service Department workload to maximize efficiency and productivity whilst maintaining the company’s high standards. To manage the technicians in an appropriate manner to maintain high customer satisfaction. To proactively improve the growth of the service department.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages key customer relationships and ensures exceptional customer service
  • Plans and allocates the technicians work based on their skill, expertise and experience Monitors and boosts warranty and service package sales
  • Manages the service schedule and warranty claims
  • Directs and assists technicians to ensure repairs are completed to the desired standard Maintains all service processes, polices ad guidelines and ensures that they are carried out safely
  • Assists in the recruitment process
  • Checks completed work and ensures and parts and labour are fully accounted for
  • Maintains workshop discipline and organization, ensuring cleanliness and safety of the working environment
  • Communicates with the Service and Parts Director on a regular basis to review workshop performance and address any specific issues
  • Collaborates with Service and Parts Director on training needs and coordinates approved training with Principals
  • Ensures that “Knowledge Sharing” session are conducted in a timely manner after training is received.
  • Responsible for the special tool inventory and recommendations for any additional purchases
  • Works alongside the Parts Manager to ensure 100% availability of parts for service jobs Conducts semi-annual performance reviews and probationary reviews for all direct reports
  • Plans, Manages and Monitors the department’s budget
  • Any other related responsibilities assigned by Management

Academic Qualifications, Experience and Soft Skills

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Industrial Service Environment.
  • Candidate must have a blend of Technical and Management skills with proven sales experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written Excellent problem solving skills and techniques
  • The ability to learn electronic parts catalogues and online parts systems The ability to lead and motivate others
  • Excellent organizational skills. Team oriented
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
