SCHEDULE SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Contractor shall report to the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and to the Medical Director or any other party designated by that Officer in connection with the performance of the duties under this Agreement and shall fulfil any other duties reasonably requested by the Employer and agreed to by the Contractor.

During the period of this Agreement, the Contractor shall ensure that the services performed pursuant to the requirements hereof shall conform to all applicable laws and regulations promulgated by the legally constituted Authorities of the government of Trinidad and Tobago.

Tasks
The contractor shall work with the Gynaecology and Oncology Team and provide technical expertise during the discharge of the following:

  • Be available in a timely manner for consultation on patients with complaints of gynaecology or oncology nature including but not limited to cancer of the ovaries, uterus, fallopian tube, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva. Consultations may include review of case notes, results of investigations and physical examination of patients as needed at the Sangre Grande Hospital. Be part of a multidisciplinary team in the planning of the management of these patients. This may include consultations with other medical and para- clinical team members.
  • Perform complex surgical procedures relevant to the management of these patients where necessary. These surgical lists will barraged in conjunction with the O&G Team who will provide assistance and maintain the direct day to day responsibility for these patients.
  • Assist in ensuring that the ERHA meets the deliverables for Gynaecology/Oncology as per the Annual Services Agreement with the MoH including the timely review and surgical treatment of these patients. Perform telephone and electronic communication/consultation.
  • Support the training of medical students and postgraduate residents during the consultations, review and surgical lists.
  • Provide and coordinate pre and post-operative support for all surgical cases with the on-site O&G team.
    Coordinate/consult with the Oncology team at Sangre Grande Hospital and nationally with respect to in-patients who may require treatment with other modalities of therapy including radiation and chemotherapy.
  • Promote and adhere to the principles of Good Medical Practice.
  • Report to the Medical Director in a timely manner of any adverse events.
