JOB TITLE: Structural Engineer I DEPARTMENT: Structures
LOCATION: Head Office and Assigned Sites REPORTS TO: Structural Team Lead
JOB SUMMARY AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The role of a Structural Engineer I is fundamental within the structural department, encompassing the execution of daily engineering tasks under the guidance of a senior structural engineer. The ideal candidate is expected to possess the following attributes:

PRINCIPAL ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Define structures’ load path, including developing a suitable gridline arrangement.
  • Conceptualization of structural systems.
  • Analyze structures using ETABS or equivalent and validate internal forces of key members with hand calculations.
  • Design structures according to IBC inclusive of seismic checks.
  • Prepare structural condition assessments.
  • Prepare structural evaluation reports.
  • Prepare structural calculation reports.
  • Supervise the production of drawings and BIM models.
  • Attend meetings with Clients and other Consultants.
  • Attend site visits and record progress and compliance with designs.
  • Prepare project-related correspondence to internal and external parties.
  • Assist in the preparation of design delivery forecasts and project expense reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules (time and material-related schedules.
  • Participate in in-house training. 
  • Provide technical support.
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, execute any other related duties that contribute towards the objectives of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
  • BSc from an accredited institution in the relevant engineering field. 
  • 2-5 years’ experience.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and internationally as required.
SOFTWARE PROFICIENCIES
  • Design and Drafting Software(s) e.g., CSI Design Package; Tekla; AutoCAD; CIVIL 3D and Revit. 
  • Engineering Calculation Software(s). 
  • Microsoft Office Suite
